Up dates

so again it's been a while but time just seems to escape me at the moment.

Logan had his 'next steps' meeting and u half expected him to be a total sod and do nothing but cry when he saw everyone who 'pulls him around' in one room (he has in the past) but i was wrong he was an angel  he greeted everyone with a huge smile and a bob up and down and they got to work, everyone was amazed at how well he is coming along and just how well he is starting to sit now and we have some new equipment for him that will help him when laying on his side as well as a portable chair to sit in.
A report was written and we are waiting to receive that back.

We made the long and early trip up to 'Great Ormond Street' hospital now normally i do not have a bad word to say about this hospital they have always been totally amazing with Logan and have been great support and reassurance for me and frank but on this occasion it wasn't totally the case. Logan's first appointment (he had three one after the other) was at 9am so Logan was already a bit irritable from the early start he soon forgot about all that when he saw the wonderful toys there and he played for a good 30 mins before we were called in a tall and to be honest rather unfriendly lady came out and called Logan in we went into a small room and sat down, she asked me to tell her a little about Logan's vision history and so i started with the obvious he has nytagmas and her answer was 'Well i know that' ok i thought but you DID ask for his history. She then proceeded to flick through his notes from the pervious visit, and said 'we discharged you why are you here' humm by this point i was feeling a little annoyed, i explained we had been refereed back from our local hospital for repeat electro testing. She then told me 'well whats the point in that when he has already had it done there won't be any change' well i was pretty relieve to hear her say that and i didn't really in my heart of hearts expect a change but i did go on to tell her what i had been told at our local and that was they would want these test done regularly. on which she replied ' i can tell you right now that will never happen' end of she then got some cards out flashed them in front of Logan and said ' i will talk to the consultant to see if he wants the testing done i don't think he will' to be honest i was pretty furious she was rude and un- friendly to Logan and we had really had a wasted trip as they had done nothing that they couldn't and already had done at our local hospital. After a short wait we were told they wouldn't do the test, so we saw the consultant who was lovely with Logan and chatted to him had a good look into his eyes and said he was very happy that Logan was looking at him and focussing well. So although it was a long morning most of it wasted it was good to know they were happy with Logan.

We had a quiet day the next day and me and Logan went for a walk around the shops and had a coffee (well i had coffee Logan had milk)

We got some mothers day presents and then went home, Logan was pretty tired after the day before.

That weekend Logan was invited to a birthday party one of the little boys we look after and so he got his glad rags on and with a smile off we went :)

We did stop off at the harvester before we went, and Logan enjoyed some cucumber :D

At the end of last week we went for a follow up appointment at the Evilina and it bought us good and not so good news. First the good Logan was weighted and he put on a massive half a kilogram making his new weight 6.7kg (14lb 7oz) i was over the moon that the new 'get as much as humanly possible' into Logan was working and i pretty sure he is better off for the extra weight. But then came the bad news Logan will need a small operation his right testicle is still sitting in the space where his hernia was and it needs to be fixed so all be it small Logan will go to the Evilina in 3-4 months time for his 10 surgery :( at least this time i can stay with him. We also visited all the wonderful staff that looked after Logan when he was so small and sick they were over the moon to see him doing so well and he got lots of lovely cuddles from them all, i still can't thank them enough for what they have done for him.

Today Logan will spend the day with nanny and grandpop's as me and frank are going out to celebrate my birthday. She has a whole day planned, painting, trips to the garden centre and much more hopefully he will be totally tired out by the time he comes home ;)

Sunny Days

It seems like ages since i updated this blog, maybe thats because it has been heheheh

Well we have been very busy half term week was spent mainly at nanny's house playing and having lots of fun (well Logan anyway lol) it was very busy with lots of children as all the school/pre school children were with us too, this made Logan enjoy his time there even more as he loves all the children.

Friday we had a well deserved day off and Logan and I really enjoyed spending some quality time together out and about, first we went for a walk around the shops, Logan enjoyed it so much he went to sleep :P
Napping in his buggy

Later in the day we did the food shopping which we all know by now is Logan's treat of the week he even drinks his milk better in the costa there

Milky in costa

He we totally as good as gold chatting and helping mummy by holding thing (unbreakable things that is :P)

This week was some what busier, A friend of ours gave us a door bouncer for Logan and now he is better at holding his head up we thought we would give it a go although he didn't tolerate it for long he actually really enjoyed bouncing around in it.

In the door bouncer
After waiting a week for Logan's doctors appointment on Tuesday it finally came up and i took Logan along expecting them to say everything was fine as he cough was miles better now, however the doctor listened to his chest i might add Logan took one look at him and screamed grabbing onto me which made it vert difficult for the doctor to examine him, his exact words 'he sounds a little congested in his chest ill give you some antibiotics' erghh well i went away not sure wether it was an infection or not but decided as he had had this cough for weeks the medication was maybe needed, and it helped his cough is even better now.

Logan was supposed to go to his toddler group on Wednesday but as the doctor said he may have an infection i didn't take him just incase he passed anything on even though in himself he was absolutely fine, work was busy anyway and i was really needed there so we stayed at nanny's a bit longer than usual.

Grand pops has been cooking yet again for Logan and made him some pretty delicious dairy free coco biscuits, Logan LOVED them i don't think i have ever seen him eat finger food with such enjoyment

I just love his little tongue in this picture :P
eating yummy biscuits.
Logan's trick of the week is rolling, well i use rolling in a loose term, he gets to his tummy with no problem at all but can't as yet get back, practice make perfect little one.

So that's our week in a nutshell with added pictures :P, Next week is equally if not more busy, with Logan's next steps meeting, with all his professionals and a trip to Great Ormond Street for his eyes, but more on that next week.

Just a few cute pictures ........

This is how Logan fell asleep the other night :P
Smile it's milk time :D

Yummy treats

The last few days have been pretty un-eventful with Logan eating like a pig (lets hope he puts on some bloody weight) and really getting the hang of finger foods, and he especially likes his special bread.

and he now pretty much drinks his milk on his own, so major improvements there. Apart from having an incessant cough that just won't shift he's been very well and very happy (touch wood) lets hope it stays that way as the appointments begin again next week with pretty much two full weeks, poor little one :(
We got an appointment through today for the genetics expert at guy's and St Thomas' she has seen him 2 times before, once at birth then not long before he was realised from hospital at St Thomas' so i'm sure she will not only be interested to see Logan but pleased with his progress.

Tomorrow we have a day off and me and Logan will be spending some quality mummy and son time together which we are both really looking forward too :)

Update

We all had a bust weekend and a busy start to the week. On Saturday i had another course so Logan spent  quality time with daddy playing with his toys and being a pickle ;P

On Sunday we went to Bluewater which Logan of course loved loved loved we are pretty sure he was a woman in his previous life he doesn't mind what shop so long as its a shop, he had lunch out and about and was pretty good about it considering it was freakishly packed full in the whole shopping centre

The rest of the days had happy and sad moments, Logan got his first hair cut well the first hair cut he needed not a skin head look :P (see below)

He cried and cried and it took daddy ages to do but the result was a very smart grown up little one with his curls all cut off :( it was much needed but i was kind of sad to see my baby boy so grown up

Today we went to nanny's as usual, Logan's grandpops made him some special bread so he could try some toast and he really liked it comping on the end and me feeding him little tiny bits he's getting the hang of chewing now.

He also had a play with some materials as he liked it at the toddler group we thought we would give it a go at home.

Been a while

it's been a few days since we updated Logan's blog, as i said perviously this week is super busy, and full of fun for Logan :)

Yesterday Logan had a chilled morning playing with the other children stacking bricks and doing his very favourite music time, it;s fast becoming his favourite time of the day banging drums and ringing bells we are convinced he's going to be a musician me and frank both love music and play instruments so we are happy Logan has adoped our passion and love for music :)

The after was even more fun as me and Logan went for our first 'play and stay' session at the Phoenix centre we played with lots of things feely things and messy things (logan wasn't too keen on the messy things :P) and then we visited the sensory room which Logan loved it wasn't until this point i realised how much he had been missing his weekly sensory room visits. After and rice cake and a drink and a little bit of singing with makaton signing it was time to go home. Logan had great fun and was totally shattered, YES !!!!

Today we finally got back to the sensory room, Marie-ann who works with Logan couldn't believe the change in him physically and visually, as he not only sits up better but can fix and follow and reach for things much easier now, he even did a bit of flirting with her pulling her hair, slapping her face and even smiling and chatting i told her she was privileged normally those are things he reserves only for me and daddy heheheh. All in all another long day, tomorrow should be quieter so a chill-axed day for Logan we think.
