Up dates

so again it's been a while but time just seems to escape me at the moment.

Logan had his 'next steps' meeting and u half expected him to be a total sod and do nothing but cry when he saw everyone who 'pulls him around' in one room (he has in the past) but i was wrong he was an angel  he greeted everyone with a huge smile and a bob up and down and they got to work, everyone was amazed at how well he is coming along and just how well he is starting to sit now and we have some new equipment for him that will help him when laying on his side as well as a portable chair to sit in.
A report was written and we are waiting to receive that back.

We made the long and early trip up to 'Great Ormond Street' hospital now normally i do not have a bad word to say about this hospital they have always been totally amazing with Logan and have been great support and reassurance for me and frank but on this occasion it wasn't totally the case. Logan's first appointment (he had three one after the other) was at 9am so Logan was already a bit irritable from the early start he soon forgot about all that when he saw the wonderful toys there and he played for a good 30 mins before we were called in a tall and to be honest rather unfriendly lady came out and called Logan in we went into a small room and sat down, she asked me to tell her a little about Logan's vision history and so i started with the obvious he has nytagmas and her answer was 'Well i know that' ok i thought but you DID ask for his history. She then proceeded to flick through his notes from the pervious visit, and said 'we discharged you why are you here' humm by this point i was feeling a little annoyed, i explained we had been refereed back from our local hospital for repeat electro testing. She then told me 'well whats the point in that when he has already had it done there won't be any change' well i was pretty relieve to hear her say that and i didn't really in my heart of hearts expect a change but i did go on to tell her what i had been told at our local and that was they would want these test done regularly. on which she replied ' i can tell you right now that will never happen' end of she then got some cards out flashed them in front of Logan and said ' i will talk to the consultant to see if he wants the testing done i don't think he will' to be honest i was pretty furious she was rude and un- friendly to Logan and we had really had a wasted trip as they had done nothing that they couldn't and already had done at our local hospital. After a short wait we were told they wouldn't do the test, so we saw the consultant who was lovely with Logan and chatted to him had a good look into his eyes and said he was very happy that Logan was looking at him and focussing well. So although it was a long morning most of it wasted it was good to know they were happy with Logan.

We had a quiet day the next day and me and Logan went for a walk around the shops and had a coffee (well i had coffee Logan had milk)

We got some mothers day presents and then went home, Logan was pretty tired after the day before.

That weekend Logan was invited to a birthday party one of the little boys we look after and so he got his glad rags on and with a smile off we went :)

We did stop off at the harvester before we went, and Logan enjoyed some cucumber :D

At the end of last week we went for a follow up appointment at the Evilina and it bought us good and not so good news. First the good Logan was weighted and he put on a massive half a kilogram making his new weight 6.7kg (14lb 7oz) i was over the moon that the new 'get as much as humanly possible' into Logan was working and i pretty sure he is better off for the extra weight. But then came the bad news Logan will need a small operation his right testicle is still sitting in the space where his hernia was and it needs to be fixed so all be it small Logan will go to the Evilina in 3-4 months time for his 10 surgery :( at least this time i can stay with him. We also visited all the wonderful staff that looked after Logan when he was so small and sick they were over the moon to see him doing so well and he got lots of lovely cuddles from them all, i still can't thank them enough for what they have done for him.

Today Logan will spend the day with nanny and grandpop's as me and frank are going out to celebrate my birthday. She has a whole day planned, painting, trips to the garden centre and much more hopefully he will be totally tired out by the time he comes home ;)
